Nation and Central African Republic Sign Memorandum

Luanda — Angola and the Central African Republic (CAR) signed on Friday in Luanda a memorandum of understanding, aimed at speeding up the negotiations for the bilateral co-operation underway.

The document was signed by the Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister, Georges Chicoty and his Central African Republic counterpart, Antoiane Gambi in visit to the country.

Speaking to the press, Antoiane Gambi said the signed memorandum resulted from the commitment assumed by the Central African Republic President, François Bozize during his visit to Angola.

Antoiane Gambi said that RCA wants to share experience with Angola regarding the resolution of political conflicts, military reintegration, among other similar social problems faced by both countries, so as to enable the development in various sectors.

He recalled that during CAR’s presodent’s visit to Angola, the respective heads of states exchanged various experiences and agreed on a more strengthened co-operation.

Central African Republic Foreign Affairs Minister highlighted that his country plays a strategic role in the continent.
