Luanda — An Executive Project for Tax Reform, with the acronym PERT, was created by the Angolan government in 2010 to adopt deep measures intended for the collection of higher amount of revenues from the non-oil sector at short, medium and long terms.
This was announced on Monday, in Luanda, by the Finance minister, Carlos Lopes.
Speaking in the opening of the First seminar on “Changes to Property Tax”, the minister said to the press that measures will be taken in the field of taxation justice.
“In order for us to give leverage to the national development process we need to strongly invest in agriculture. It is through agriculture that we’ll empower agro-industry and from there bring about a robust industrial development for the country” he stressed.
According to him, the creation of PERT will also enable to make the Angolan taxation system more updated, efficient and capable to respond to the big objectives of economic policy.
