Tragedy struck Kato near Berekum last Friday when a 22-year-old pregnant woman and a six-year-old boy were crushed to death by a collapsed mud building following a heavy downpour. Three others who were sleeping in the room got injured and are on admission at the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum.

Luanda — The chairperson of the Architects Order of Angola, António Gameiro, acknowledged here that the creation of Special Economic Zone of Viana will boost the country’s economic and industrial sectors.

Speaking to ANGOP, regarding the inauguration last Friday of the entrepreneurship, by the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, António Gameiro has announced that its operation will provide greater capacity and inclusion of local manpower as well as facilitate the distribution channels and marketing of manufactured products.

“I think it is a great gain for the country, once in place it will only manufacture products that were previously imported – he said.

Built in 2005, a total area of 8,300 hectares, the Special Economic Zone, according to data, is designed for 73 factories, of which eight are in operation.
