Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner will not be leaving for anything less than £9.6 million this summer, according to his father.

The Dane has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates following another difficult season for the club, with Bavarian giants Bayern Munich the favourites.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger’s public admiration of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema could spell the end for Bendtner but his father Thomas, who is also the forward’s agent, claimed that any suitors will have to stump up just under £10m.

Speaking to Danish newspaper B.T. he said: “One hundred million crowns £9.6m.

“He has been valued higher before. But of course, if you are on the bench the price goes down.

“Nicklas has the qualities to live up to this sum and we can certainly find a club that is willing to pay.”
