Midfielder Tony Mawejje and goalkeeper Abel Dhaira are expected three-days ahead of Uganda Cranes Africa Cup Nation qualifier crucial tie against Guinea Bissau on June 4.

There had been concerns over the travel schedules of duo given the origin of the ash cloud from Grimsvotn, Iceland’s most active volcano but that has given way.

And according to Cranes team manager Chris Muyinda, only ÃçBV’s home game against Reykjavík today (Sunday) has caused the delay for Mawejje and Dhaira’s arrival.

“Both players will leave Iceland on Monday and arrive here on Tuesday night,” Muyinda confirmed to Sunday Monitor.

Muyinda also disclosed that US based Henry Kalungi is expected on the same day while Serbia pair of defender Nestroy Kizito and winger Vincent Kayizzi should be here on Monday. Andrew Mwesigwa, Joseph Kabagambe, Isaac Isinde and Geoffrey Massa jet in today as the Cranes regroup at Sky Hotel for residential camp.

“All the summoned players already in Kampala are expected at Namboole this morning and will be transported to the Hotel thereafter”. Midfielder Musa Mudde, who turns out for Kenyan outfit Sofapaka will be the last man to show up in camp on Thursday due to his club’s continental assignment.

Sofapaka have an away Confederations Cup game in Tunisia today and will only be back in Nairobi on May 31. Uganda currently top Group J on seven points, three more than second placed Kenya. Both Guinea Bissau – Cranes’ next opponents and Angola have three apiece.

Uganda will edge closer to qualifying for the 2012 Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon with victory.

The tickets for the match go on sale on May 30 at selected filling stations and other outlets in major towns of Uganda.
