Nigeria: Use Your Best Against Ethiopia Not Argentina, Ekpo Advises Siasia

As the Super Eagles get set for the June 1 International friendly against Argentina and the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa on June 5, ex-International Friday Ekpo has advised head coach of the team Samson Siasia to use players that are in top form to prosecute the more important game against Ethiopia.

According to him, the Ethiopia game is more crucial than Argentina friendly and needs more attention and concentration. He stressed the need for Siasia to use players who are capable and can do exploit, adding that the Argentina match should be used as tune up for Ethiopia.

“If you ask me, Argentina game is a training process against Ethiopia and we have five days before the match against Ethiopia, which is an avenue to prepare very well and make some corrections.

If proper focus is not placed on Ethiopia, our chances to qualify for the Nations Cup will be slim. And you know Ethiopia will not be sleeping either, that is why we need very serious preparation for that match.

“The name Argentina rings a bell, I know a lot of people would want to concentrate more on that because of the name but I will also advise that it is just an ordinary friendly match, not as serious as that of Ethiopia,”Ekpo said.
