Namibia: Black Africa Scores FNB ‘Win Bonus’

Windhoek — First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) lived up to its promise of donating an extra N$100,000 to any of the six FNB-sponsored teams, if that team happened to win the league this year, and Black Africa was the proud recipient of the N$100,000 from FNB yesterday.

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, FNB’s Managing Director Vekuii Rukoro said: “We are proud to congratulate Black Africa for a job well done, and to put our appreciation in more tangible terms, we are here today to hand over the first-ever FNB performance bonus to Black Africa, after they deservingly won the MTC Premier League.

“This N$100,000 performance bonus shows that we are achieving our objective of FNB-sponsored teams rising to the occasion and competing in national tournaments of high standard and bringing people together, as well as doing so in sportsmanship.”

Concluded Rukoro: “We are well aware that football is the most popular sport in Namibia – the one that cuts across all boundaries, cultures and traditions, and such a great way to reach out and unite people, and we at FNB believe that our six sponsored clubs have made a defence in Namibian football and the fact that the five top positions on the log standings are held by five FNB-sponsored clubs is testimony to this.”
