Khartoum — The Council of Ministers, chaired by President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Thursday approved a draft act on imposing duties on the use of highways for the year 2011, through a report presented by Minister of Roads and Bridges, Eng. Abdul-Wahab Osman. Meanwhile, Dr. Salih explained that the Council of Ministers reviewed a report on Sudan participation in the meetings of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

He revealed that the meetings were quite moderate with respect to reports on all countries, including Western countries, a matter which led to endorsement of Sudan statement without objection. The spokesman of the Council of Ministers said that the Cabinet affirmed that Sudan’s commitment and respect to human rights is derived from its religious, political and ethical commitments rather than a response to any intimidation or seeking content of other countries.
