The newly wedded political pair, the Congress for Democratic Change political leaders, Winston Tubman and George Weah, have been on an international peace charity caravan.

The two men were part of an international soccer charity held in the Ghanaian Capitol, Accra, organized by the Ghanaian international soccer star and African Union Peace Ambassador, Michael Essen.

The international charity event brought together African and world class soccer players from every continent at the invitation of Michael Essien.

George M. Weah, a Liberian soccer legend, former Africa and world best player of the year along with his new political boss Tubman graced the event which analysts believe has added impetus to the spirit of renewal among Liberians sheltering in Ghana.

The international humanitarian friendly football event was fashioned under Africa 11 and World 11 aimed at raising funds for charity for less fortunate kids on the African Continent.

While on the pitch, George Weah was providing soccer guidance as the coach for Africa11, and he was being keenly observed from the VIP Wing of the stadium by Congress for Democratic Change Standard Bearer, Cllr. Winston A. Tubman who was cut in a multiple supportive role as former UN Secretary General Special Representative in the World and an African especially as standard bearer of Weah, one time world’s soccer best player.

At the international charity event, Tubman received a grand recognition by the event organizers, especially from Ghanaian international star player and AU Peace Ambassador Michael Essien, Drogba, Kanu, Appian among others African and world class players  as well as Ghanaian and other international dignitaries during the event last week.

While in Ghana, according to sources, Tubman and Weah held discussions with international organizations about the state of affairs in Liberia, also highlighting the recent action by the Unity Party and its sympathizers to use CDC emblem to decorate President Sirleaf’s political agenda. They described the action as ‘provocative’ and dangerous to the ongoing peace process and the coming elections.

The CDC standard bearer also held a live phone-in talk show that took the Ghanaian residents by storm at the famous Ghana City FM, explaining to the public about the political weight of CDC and the agenda for transformation and economic empowerment if the CDC won the upcoming election.

Meanwhile, the newly elected CDC standard-bearer is leading a high power delegation to attend the graduation ceremony of the George M. Weah who is expected to receive his first academic degree from an American University on June 5, 2011.

At the same time the CDC standard bearer will be addressing a press conference on a wide range of issues including the latest “provocation” by UP sympathizers at the Monrovia City Hall last Wednesday in Monrovia.
