Sylvain Marveaux has confirmed he will leave Rennes on a free transfer for an English club this summer, but has not declared who his new employers will be.
Liverpool have long been linked with the 25-year-old, but he remained coy over the team he will be joining ahead of the new season.
“I have not chosen – I have not yet signed. What is certain about next season, though, is that I will play in England,” Marveaux told L’Equipe.
The former France under-21 midfielder has endured an injury-prone season, having not featured since November, and explained that he will leave the Ligue 1 club on slightly unfriendly terms.
“I was able to resume training this week,” he said. “I would have liked to train with my team-mates, but the club informed me that they did not want me to take part with the group.
“I enjoyed helping the club to a great season. I am disappointed at not being able to have one last match at the stadium because for 10 years, I gave what I had to give to Rennes.”
