Premier League new boys Norwich City have agreed a £2.5 million fee for Everton striker James Vaughan, according to Sky Sports.

Canaries boss Paul Lambert is hoping to strengthen his squad for the upcoming season in England’s top flight and targeted Vaughan as one of their primary men to bring in to aid their survival chances.

The 22-year-old has been on loan from the Merseyside club at Championship strugglers Crystal Palace, scoring nine goals as the Eagles avoided relegation to League One.

Jimmy Bullard is also believed to be a target of Lambert’s as the 32-year-old is available for transfer from Hull after spending the second half of the season at local rivals Ipswich Town.

Vaughan broke into the first team ranks at Everton during the 2004-05 season but, after a string of long term injuries, failed to cement a place in the starting XI.

The striker has also had loan spells with Derby County and Leicester City.
