Kenya Football Federation (KFF) have thrown their weight behind FIFA President Sepp Blatter’s re-election bid for a four-year term during the June 1 polls. Nyamweya said Blatter’s re-election will see the crisis bedeviling football in Kenya solved in the near future. “We know he wants sobriety to prevail in Kenyan football and with him as president, we are sure we will have sanity prevailing,” added Nyamweya. He said since Blatter took over the seat after Joao Havalenge, Fifa has grown in status and performance, to become a giant association that plays a big role to unite the world. “Blatter has been tried, tested and is the man for the top job,” he said. The KFF boss said Blatter promised to bring the World Cup to Africa in the mid 1990s and lived up to his promise when South Africa became the first country in Africa to host the event. “This has brought so much economic gain to Africa and demystified the myth that Africa cannot host an event of such magnitude,” added Nyamweya.
