Aziz Corr Nyang and Saihou Jagne swept the spoils in a Gambian derby. Saihou Jagne and Corr each scored for their team after Mohamed Mbye made an error.

The Gambian duo’s BP dealt a blow to Mohammed’s Assyriska title hopes with a 2-0 battering away to Momo’s side home stadium.

Either are potential title winners but Assyriska still top the standings after second place Atvidaberg blew their chance to leapfrog Momo’s side to the peak of the table, when they 2-0 lost to Hammarby yesterday.

Following a goalless affair in the first-half, Saihou Jagne spurred BP to the lead in the 49th minute after a costly defensive mistake from fellow countryman Mohamed.

The game did not end without Aziz Corr Nyang netting his share of the goals. The stylish Gambian winger punished his former club Assyriska in the 82nd minute. The 26-year-old, popular for his dribbling feat, did exactly what he thought of the host team when he beat three Assyriska defenders to draw margin for the game scoreline.

Assyriska conceded defeat twice in a row but could still beef up their chances in their next encounter.
