Luanda — The chairperson of the Association of Environment Fund of Mozambique, Casimiro Huate, Tuesday in Luanda, defended increased investment in environmental education programmes in schools of all levels.
The official expressed this intention while speaking of his country’s experience in waste management, as part of the high-level meeting on waste in the CPLP, held in Luanda from 24 to 25 May under the motto “handling waste defending the future”.
According to the environmentalist, the schools with these programmes will be transformed into places of gathering environmental information, enabling its expansion at the community level through students.
The meeting was opened by the deputy governor of Luanda for Social Affairs, Juvelina Imperial, and will discuss themes related to finding solutions to the problems of waste management in CPLP countries in light of experiences of each State and technological innovations.
