Three of Russia’s key players currently based in England are set to return to clubs in their native country to maintain fitness levels ahead of their upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier against Armenia, according to sports.ru.
Everton midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will train with their former clubs, Lokomotiv Moscow and Spartak Moscow respectively, while Sport-Express report that Chelsea’s Yuri Zhirkov is set to take up the opportunity to train with Rubin Kazan’s first team – a side he has never played for.
Zhirkov joined Chelsea for a reported fee of £18 million in 2008 but has failed to nail down a place in the team and could be on his way this summer.
The training opportunity was arranged by the national team’s coaching staff as Russian domestic league.
Russia currently lie second in Group B having taken 10 points from their first four matches.
