Luanda — Cape Verde’s Environment minister, Sara Lopes, Monday here urged the African Governments for strong investment in structuring sectors, specially in territory and urban planning as well as housing policies.
The minister also called for structuring of actions and jointly searching for resources at the international community, identifying the financial sources for resolution of various environmental problems faced by the continent.
Sara Lopes arrived Monday in Luanda to attend the high-level meeting of Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) on management of Wastes, scheduled for 24-25 May.
The Cape Verde’s official told Angop that the countries are facing with the need to speed up the political measures and structuring of their actions with a view to fulfil the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
“We must improve our technical abilities, the legislation, institutions, finding financial mechanisms to invest in sanitation infrastructures, in awareness and mobilisation and boost institutions”, underlined the official.
