Ali Maganda was the hero of the day when he came on as substitute in second half to guide Bul Bidco to a 2-0 win against stubborn Mbale Heroes in an Elgon group Big League match played at Walukuba in Jinja on Thursday afternoon.
Infront of their home fans who had given up on cheering, Maganda tapped in the opener after a low cross from the left by winger Umar Nyanzi in the 68th minute. He then set up the second goal for William Odetta who chipped past Mbale Heroes’ advancing goal keeper, eight minutes later.
At the Saza play ground, Bruhani Matovu’s double strike guided Iganga MC FC to a hard fought 2-1 home win to dethrone visitors Kase FC from the third position in the league thus qualifying for this year’s Super league playoffs.
Iganga MC FC’s win came after their disappointing 0-1 loss in the hands of Mbale Heroes thanks to a second half strike from Edmond Wamboka on Monday.
In Busia, home team Busia-Hoima, who are now promoted to next season’s Super League, lost out to bottom placed Jinja Arsenal to 2-1 at the Madibila play ground.
Jinja Arsenal’s winning goal was scored by Ibra Kazindula in the 57th minute. Busia ended on 31 points.
