A group calling itself NDC Action Youth have attacked the offices of the Mayor of Tamale, Alhaji Abdulai Haruna Friday and destroyed office equipment worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
The irate NDC youth say their action is in protest at a decongestion exercise undertaken over the weekend by city officials under the direction of the Mayor.
Properties destroyed by the angry youth group include computers, furniture, stationery and exhibition stands.
The group also attempted to vandalise the offices of the Metropolitan Chief Executive but have so far not been able to do so.
Our Northern Region Correspondent Abdul Karim Naatogmah reports that despite several calls to the police, no officer has showed up.
