FCT Man ‘O’ War Commander, Sunday Boniface, stated this on Thursday, during a courtesy visit on the FCT Sector Commander of the FRSC.
He said as part of the club’s programme of action for 2011, they will partner with the FRSC to enable their members across the territory contribute their quota to traffic safety.
Commander Sunday appealed to the sector commander to provide his command with an operational vehicle, reflective jackets, financial supports as well as organize training programmes for his members to enable them carry out traffic control in the territory.
He disclosed that the club in Abuja has been in the vanguard of social change and youth development in the territory, adding that his men actively participate in orientation programmes organised by the National Youths Service Corp as well as monitor monthly environmental exercises in the territory.
Responding, FCT FRSC Sector Commander, Mr A.F. Olawonyi, represented by the Sector’s Head of Operations, Mr Ajayi Sunday, assured the club’s commander of the sector’s readiness to collaborate with them in ensuring traffic safety in the territory.
Mr Ajayi said that the FRSC has mobilised more of its officers and equipped them with operational vehicles as well as ambulances to ensure traffic safety across the territory.
