Bauchi state gubernatorial candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC), Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has filed a petition before the election petition tribunal sitting in Bauchi, challenging the election of Governor Isa Yuguda of the PDP.

Speaking with newsmen separately after they filed the petition over the weekend at the tribunal premises in Bauchi, the state Chairman of CPC Shehu Barau Ningi and counsels to the gubernatorial candidate Barristers Kingsley Osu and Yakubu Galadima alleged that the last gubernatorial election was characterized by massive rigging, indiscriminate thumb printing and stuffing of ballot boxes in favour of the PDP.

They alleged that both electoral officials and voters were intimidated, adding that the voters were forced to vote for PDP and where they could not succeed they snatched the ballot boxes, thumb printed and stuffed it in favour of PDP.

The CPC Counsels ex-pressed the hope that by the time they take the tribunal members through their petition they will not allow the election to stand, because they will prove that “the election does not meet a minimum standard of decent election conducted anywhere in the world.”
