Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson should win the League Managers’ Association (LMA) Manager of the Year award.

The Red Devils boss has successfully guided his side to a landmark 19th league title, making them the most successful club in the history of English football.

Now ahead of the Champions League final against Barcelona, the Frenchman reckons his rival deserves the honour.

“Manchester United are in the Champions League final and have won the title. It can only be Ferguson,” Wenger is quoted by The Sun as saying, ahead of the Monday announcement of the award winner.”

The former Monaco boss also believes that United are going to play a very different style of football as opposed to their normal way of play, when they take on Barca at Wembley.

“I have an instinctive feeling that Manchester United will change completely their style this time,” said Wenger.

“I think they will go for a rougher midfield, a more direct display than in Rome. It could mean playing Javier Hernandez as a runner, to go direct.”
