Roberto Mancini believes Chelsea would be making a ‘huge mistake’ sacking Carlo Ancelotti

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich would be making a mistake if he were to sack Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has seen his future coming under increasing speculation in recent months and Mancini has described his fellow manager as “one of the best”.

Mancini has seen his own future questioned at times with the huge pressure surrounding his job at Manchester City though he has dismissed any rumours with him joining Juventus.

“In reality, I have not said no to Juve simply because I have never been approached by them,” Mancini told Studio Sport XXL.

“I want to remain at Manchester City to build a group.

“It would be stupid to have to start over somewhere else.

“For the same reason, Roman Abramovich would make a huge mistake to part with Carlo Ancelotti.

“He is one of the best coaches in the world.”

Mancini has also responded to recent reports that he has had a fall out with temperamental striker Mario Balotelli.

“He is a good lad,” Mancini added.

“He makes mistakes and needs to grow up.

“But it’s not true that I tell him off. It’s just that we speak a lot and one of the things I tell him is that nothing should be taken for granted and that he needs to prove he deserves his place in the team.”
