Lokomotiv Moscow are chasing West Ham United forward Demba Ba following the English team’s relegation from the Premier League.

Sports.ru reports the 25-year-old Senegalese striker has been on the radar of the Russian club and he is expected to hold talks with them over the next week.

Former Chelsea midfielder Alexey Smertin, who works as an advisor for Lokomotiv, will travel to the UK to hold discussions with Ba and his agent.

An estimated €8 million (£7m) would likely be needed to open negotiations with the Hammers, who are said to have also received interest from Stoke City and Newcastle United for the former Hoffenheim striker.
