Namibia’s upcoming gymnast, Anica Profitt, participated in the Lotto World Trophy Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, which recently took place in Bulgaria from April 29 – May 01.
She competed against 15 other senior participants from Russia, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Sweden, Canada, Estonia and Holland during the lucrative competition.
“In preparation for future international competitions, where Anica will represent Namibia, it is essential for her to participate internationally,” said her coach, Roumiana Kostin.
Profitt took 9th place in both her hoop and ribbon routines and finished 10th overall with a total score of 74.30.
Russia won the competition with Belgium in second place, followed by Belarus in third place of the prestigious European competition.
Profitt was also awarded a participation trophy. While she was in Bulgaria, she visited the Bulgarian National Training Centre where she trained for two weeks.
