The boy’s mother had complained that one of the baby’s testis could not be located since the child’s birth and after repeated medical scanning, plans were made to fly the boy to India.
“But as God will have it, I was informed about the services and facilities in the speciality hospital,” the woman expressed.
She said Indian doctors after diagnosis, were able to locate the missing testis somewhere in the child’s abdomen.
When our reporter visited the hospital yesterday, a Senior Consultant Surgeon, Dr Sudhista Chandra Jha, who led the medical team to operate on the baby, explained that if the surgery was not performed within two years, complications would have resulted.
According to her, the problem would have made the patient unable to produce sperm in future.
She said the defect can cause severe pains with high risk of testicular cancer if not treated on time.
Primus Super Speciality Hospital, which is based in New Delhi, India, opened only last month in Abuja under a private investment partnership with the FCT Administration.
