Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has insisted that the club will be taking their game with Blackpool seriously, despite reports that Sir Alex Ferguson will rest a number of top stars ahead of their Champions League final with Barcelona.
With the Premier League title already secured and Barcelona awaiting on May 28 at Wembley, Ferguson is expected to rest some first team players against Ian Holloway’s side, but Vidic has insisted they will still be going for the win.
“We have to work hard, we have to prepare for the next game,” he told Sky Sports News.
“Barcelona I have to say is the most important game for us, but Blackpool we want to play well, we want to play the best we can and we always expect to win games and we will try to do that.”
Despite securing a record breaking 19th league title, Vidic insists that the club will not dwell on their achievement and he is confident of more success.
“I think just to win the title it means a lot especially after last year when we didn’t win the league when we lost by just one point,” he added.
“It is important to win a 19th title, but I don’t think 19 will the last one it will be many more I hope.
“It’s important we have won the most leagues in this country, but it is not something we will stop and be happy with.”
