Mogadishu — As drought affected the normal of Somalis in south and center of the country, Mogadishu on Wednesday has received spring rains.
Hundreds of rural people have reached at Mogadishu escaping the deadly drought that hit the region around the capital and beyond.
Locals have warmly appreciated and were happy for the falling of spring showers.
The districts of Benadir region including Hamar Jajab, Waberi, Shangani and others have received the rains.
The rains are said to have negative impact to the needy and displaced people who live in huts and tents made of old cloths and sheets.
The internally displaced people in Mogadishu called for the transitional federal government of Somalia and relief agencies to act quickly to help them.
