With the 2010/11 season coming to its conclusion and Manchester United already crowned champions for a record 19th time, Goal.com asked its readers who they thought was the Red Devils’ best player of the season.
After much deliberation it was whittled down to three worthy candidates: Dimitar Berbatov, Javier Hernandez, and Nemanja Vidic.
Readers agreed with Goal.com that Vidic deserved the honour, with 49.92 per cent voting for the Serbian.
In second was Hernandez with 41.95% of the vote. The Mexican was not far away from stealing Vidic’s glory and if he keeps up his high levels of performances he could be in with contention next year.
Bulgarian international Berbatov was third with 8.14%. The striker, joint top scorer in the Premier League, has tailed off in recent months but was instrumental in the team’s start to the season, with a hat-trick against Liverpool that will live long in the memory.
