Freetown — Caritas Makeni director Joseph Turay has said that his organisation will make agriculture a business enterprise in the region. He made this statement during a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Loko town last week.
Turay said Caritas Makeni is a non-governmental organisation that has returned to the district to undertake some developmental projects. He said the agricultural business centres will have the opportunity to learn how to operate their power tillers, rice mills and to cultivate the spirit of team work.
“This first phase of activities will last for four months,” he said and encouraged participants to treat the training seriously.
In their responses, representatives of the ABC thanked the director of Caritas for returning to Port Loko to salvage their plight of the people.
The programme was chaired by Michael Kamara of Caritas, while money for recharge cards were given to the beneficiaries.
