Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill is believed to be hopeful of joining Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for the England international, and are thought to be in line to bolster their defence after conceding 41 goals in the Premier League this season – the most of any side in the top four.

Now The Mirror reports that the Trotters centre-back has told his friends that he remains confident of making a move to the north London club.

Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Cahill in the past.
