Mustapha Carayol could be heading elsewhere next season after he failed to measure up to expectation.
Carayol joined Lincoln City from Torquay United after a protracted legal battle between the two clubs over his compensation fee.
Lincoln nicknamed ‘Imps’ engaged in a summer spending spree to beef up their squad ahead of the coming season; thus attracting former MK Dons starlet Mustapha Carayol. Carayol was among the club’s biggest acquisition of the season and was expected to prove he was worth the trouble Imps underwent in getting him contracted.
At the start of the season, Mustapha made a blistering performance; scoring four goals with three assists, but things turned sour after he sustained an injury which hampered his season.
Lincoln is now contemplating selling the Gambian English-born starlet following an unimpressive outing which led to the club’s relegation from League Two.
Carayol, 22, is mentioned as available for transfer to another club. The left-footer signed on a two year deal from Torquay but will likely not see out his contract.
