The FA has confirmed that an investigation will be made into the transfer of Gael Givet from Marseille to Blackburn Rovers.
The 29-year-old defender was on loan with Rovers and then made a permanent move to the club after a reported £3.5 million fee was agreed between the two clubs.
However, the Frenchman claimed that he had paid money to an unlicensed agent to make the move a reality.
Now, the FA has decided to take a look into the matter, and a spokesman said: “We will be looking into the material and the issues that may be raised by the content.”
Givet has made 28 Premier League appearances for Rovers this season.
