Carlo Cudicini is hoping that Tottenham can wrap up fifth place in the Premier League to qualify for European football next season.

Spurs currently sit one point above Liverpool following their 2-0 victory at Anfeld, and will remain above their rivals for the spot if they match or better the Reds’ result on the final day of the season.

“It would be a great achievement to finish fifth,” the Italian told the club’s official website.

“It won’t be easy against Birmingham on Sunday, though, because they are still fighting for their lives.

“It’s our last home game of the season and we want to say thanks to the supporters in a nice way.

“They were unbelievable again at Anfield, they help us so much and hopefully we can finish well for them.”

“Everyone did a great job,” the goalkeeper said of his team-mates, after their first win at Anfield in 18 years.

“Danny Rose was unbelievable at left-back, Daws Michael Dawson as usual and Ledley King back in the team again. He’s unbelievable.

“It was a great result, a great performance and really good day for us, especially after a few disappointing results lately.

“To go to Anfield, play good football and win 2-0 against a team that has been doing so well in the last three or four months was fantastic.”
