Nairobi — The bodies of six people were discovered on Saturday in the Banco National Park, which is situated in central Abidjan at the junction of Yopougon, Attecoube, Abobo and Adjame districts.

The commandos of the gendarmerie and forest rangers found the bodies tied up and placed beside each other.

Captain Seydou Domba, the head of forest rangers, said that the unidentified individuals might have been killed two days earlier.

He promised that all the local security forces would work together to ensure adequate security within the park, which is a natural forest covering 3,000 hectares with several animal and plant species.

Several mass graves were recently discovered by the residents of Yopougon, which was a stronghold of the country’s former leader Laurent Gbagbo, who was arrested on April 11. (Xinhua)
