Sumbe — Journalists from various State-run media companies in Kwanza Sul absorbed, at the weekend in Sumbe, knowledge about the relationship between the “Journalism and Anthropology”, a lecture promoted by the local department.
Animated the lecture, held in the auditorium of the Provincial Broadcasting, the professor in cultural heritage, Joaquim Matos Ribeiro, who said there was a close interconnection between anthropology and journalism, being based on research and communication.
“The journalism can define as the practice of collecting, writing, editing and publishing information on current events, since it is an activity of communication. Anthropology and Journalism have existed since the dawn of time when the human being writing on the walls of caves. This is a primary form of journalism, making the communication”, he said.
He spoke of the relationship between cultural anthropology and journalism that covers three topics including ethnography, ethnology and applied linguistics to anthropology and archaeology.
The participated in the lecture, part of the activities to mark May 03, World Press Freedom Day, as well as journalists, students of history, representatives of the Provincial Management of Culture and the Media.
