District #10 Endorses Tubman-Weah Ticket

A steward of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and youth coordinator of the party, Samuel S. Seakor of District #10, says the youth community of that district has endorsed the election of Cllr. Winston Tubman and Amb George Weah as standard-bearer and vice standard-bearer of CDC, respectively, to contest the 2011 election.

Mr. Seakor described the duo as “internationally acclaimed Liberians whose position at the top of the party electoral slate has brought a new dynamism into the body politics of Liberia”.

Beside the dynamism brought in the body politics of Liberia, he said in a press release issued in Monrovia yesterday, Messrs Tubman and Weah, as first choice of the CDC ticket, demonstrated the sense of unity among politicians that the people of Liberia have long requested.

The CDC ticket, according him, has bridged the Congo-and-native divide that has long plunged the Liberian society into uncontrollable situations and resulted into the years of civil war that left several thousand Liberian lives destroyed.

The CDC Kakata convention, during which the decision to make Mr. Tubman standard-bearer was reached, the CDC youth coordinator said, showed clearly that the grassroots was being involved in decision-making as democracy requires. The decision, he said, defeated arguments that CDC was a party of people who do not have the slighted idea of building a strong and united political force to provide a reputable leadership for Liberia.

He said the change Liberians have cried for over the past five years was now at their doorsteps and that therefore they needed to grab the opportunity to peacefully and democratically install a CDC-led government that will deliver the goods to Liberians.
