Judge Patrick Geebe, while narrating his experience, said the robbers broke into his flat at 3: 30 am weilding cutlasses, knives and dangerous weapons.
He said three of the robbers stood outside while two others broke into his flat, leading his wife and himself into their bedroom.
“They ransacked the entire house, collected N9, 500, a laptop, driver’s licence, ATM card, two handsets, vests and an identity card,” the judge said.
He said the robbers outside were shouting ‘Mopol’ shoot anybody that raises alarm.
Other victims of the robbery incident were Godwin Imolore, who lost handsets, laptop, wristwatch, sandals and undisclosed sums of money.
Another victim, Miss Esther Bawa, lost seven hand sets, jewelleries and an undisclosed sum of money.
She said the robbery attack was the second incident since she parked into the premises, adding that she intends to move out of the place due to the harrowing experience.
The robbers also attacked the apartment of an official of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Emeka Onwudinjo, who also lost his laptop, hand sets, undisclosed sums of money and his wife’s hand bag to them.
When contacted, Abaji Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent Sani Umar Paiko, confirmed the attack and said investigation is on to arrest the culprits.
He said the police division issued phone numbers to residents of the area to alert the police whenever they find any suspects and appealed to them to contact the police once they are in danger.
