The Ministry of Tourism has expressed it gratitude to the Chiefs, Queen Mothers, people of the Kwahu Traditional area and media especially Adom FM for their immense contribution towards this year’s Paragliding festival during the Kwahu Easter celebrations.
The Ministry says the 2011 edition of the paragliding festival saw a massive boost as compared to last year and attributed it to the support of Ghanaians with special regards to the media.
A statement issued and signed by the Public Relations Manager of the Ministry, Mr. Prince Boakye-Boateng said that the ministry believes that Ghanaians are beginning to adopt the culture of vacation as a way of promoting domestic tourism.
It said their assertion follows the huge number of holiday makers that participated in this year’s paragliding festival.
The ministry said the special efforts of the Media especially Adom FM in promoting the festival was exceptional and expressed its deepest appreciation for that.
They also thanked the security officials who ensured maximum safety of holiday makers that participated in the festival adding that though there were few challenges it was effectively managed by the security officials.
The statement also highlighted the pivotal role of the Department of Feeder Roads, the District Assemblies in the area, the staff of the Ministry, Ghana Tourist Board, Ghana Tourist Development Corporation and its sector agencies played in making the festival a success.Â
The Ministry said the Paragliding festival could not have been possible without the Thirty Two pilots who dedicated themselves to that course and extended their profound gratitude to them.
