The Gambia Supreme Islamic Council (GSIC) has announced that the prizes for the second Qur’anic competition sponsored by the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh will be handed over to the winners today, Friday 13th May 2011 at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.
According to a statement from GSIC signed by its president, Alhagie Muhammad Lamin Touray, the ceremony will start at 09:00am. The statement also urged the general public, all Qur’anic memorization centres, Middle & High Schools, Majaalis and interested individuals to grace the occasion.
