Sumbe — At least 34 new cases of leprosy were recorded since January so far in coastal Kwanza Sul province, said Wednesday a local health source.
Speaking to the press, the provincial supervisor of Programme of combat Leprosy, Antero Carlitos Paulo said that the figure adds to 162 previous cases of people who are receiving medical treatment.
According to him, the new cases were reported in the districts of Sumbe, Cela, Kibala and Seles.
At this moment, the health authorities control 196 cases of leprosy.
