Dar Es Salaam — Fourteen teams have thus far confirmed their participation in the National Karate Championship planned for last weekend of May.Tanzania Shotokan Karate Association (Tashoka) secretary general Sensei Hassan Jango said preparations for the tournament were in place and both women and men teams will compete.
The tournament, which will take place at the National Indoor Stadium, will be held in the isles next year.
Jango named the teams as: Arusha, Coast, Dodoma, Iringa and Kilimanjaro.The list also includes: Morogoro, Mbeya, Mtwara, Lindi, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Manyara, Tanga and Ruvuma.
“Many teams are likely to participate this time around, we already have 14 teams that have confirmed…the number is very encouraging,” he said.Jango was also expecting more teams from other regions to confirm their participation.
