Teachers and students of the St Peters Roman Catholic Primary and Junior High School in Ofuman, a village in Techiman, have boycotted classes in protest against what they call persistent defecating in their classrooms, also known as “shit bombing”.
On Tuesday, the teachers and students hit the streets and demonstrated against the townsfolk accusing them of being behind the acts.
Assistant Headmaster of the School, Mr. Samuel Yeboah, told Adom News that since last year, the people in the town have turned their classrooms into a public toilet and have been constantly defecating there.
According to Mr. Yeboah, several complaints made to the Chief of the town and the District Education Directorate have not yielded any results.
He said they hit the streets on Tuesday because what they witnessed that day was worse than normal.
Mr. Yeboah said the teachers and students have resolved not to go to school until their grievances are addressed.
