The victim, Mpiatu, said he noticed that morning that someone had tamper with cement bags he packed outside his shop and used tarpaulin to cover.
“After my co-traders told me they did not collect the bags, I went to Gwagwalada Police Division to make a report and was informed that my cement was recovered by the police the previous night from a suspect.
Responding, Gwagwalada Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Charles Mozie, said a police team on patrol at 2 am noticed people putting bags of cement inside a truck and suspected them.
“As soon as they saw policemen, they ran away but we impounded their truck after chasing them and later apprehended a suspect,” the police officer said.
He advised traders in the area to ensure that their goods are well protected and report suspicious characters to the police.
