Muslim elder calls for unity in NDC

    Saltpond, May 11, GNA – The head of the Muslim Community in Saltpond Zongo, Sariki Maama Nomabo V, has appealed to the leadership of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to resolve the impasse within the party to give President John Atta Mills the peace to govern the country.

    Sariki Nomabo, a Principal Pharmacist at Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital , said the President needed peace to plan for the nation and commended him for remaining calm despite provocations and insults.

    Sariki Nomabo praised the President for appointing Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman West, as a Deputy Minister of Local government and Rural Development.

    He expressed the hope that he would use his promotion to serve the people of the constituency.

    Sariki Nomabo said the reconstruction of roads in the Saltpond Zongo must be linked to the roads in Kuranchikrom.

    He said people in some parts of the community were living in darkness and appealed to the MP and the Municipal Chief Executive to extend electricity to those parts.

    Sariki Nomabo commended the MP and the MCE, Mr Henry Kweku Hayfrom, for their support for the Zongo community.

    He said through their support two classrooms had been put up for the school and appealed to them to add the remaining four classrooms to make the primary to have a full complement of classrooms.

    Sariki Nomabo appealed to the Assembly to award scholarships to students from the Zongo community to bring them up to the level of the youth in other communities.

    He Mr Quansah to get Saltpond Ceramics Factory reactivated to provide jobs for the people of the area.
