Guinean Official Stresses Partnership in Peace, Stability

Luanda — The chairman of district chamber of Bissau, Armando Nopoco, considered Angola as a key partner of Guinea Bissau judging by its current support to the peace stability in that country.

Armando Nopoco was speaking to the press after the meeting he held with Luanda governor, José Maria Ferraz dos Santos, on the sidelines of the 28th General Assembly of the Union of the Portuguese-speaking Capital Cities (UCCLA) and the Entrepreneurial Forum on Tourism.

Armando Nopoco underlined that the meeting with the governor was also intended to thank for the Angolan support and the arrangement of the event.

“We are interested in developing cooperation between Bissau and Luanda toward deepening friendship ties, with stress to the support extended by Angola which is considered fundamental for the stabilisation process”, he referred.

He also highlighted his government’s intention to expand the relations in districts, whether Bissau or Gabul, a very important region at the level of economic development.

On the other hand, Nopoco recognised that the strengthening of relations requires the signing of protocols in order to formalize the cooperation, therefore giving priorities to the fields of culture and sports, deemed fundamental for exchange of experience.

Also attended the audience was chairman of Gabul district with whom Luanda governor will also sign a city twining protocol.
