As Manchester City‘s first full season under Robert Mancini draws to a potentially glorious close, Goal.com decided to look at which Blues player has lead the way in a season which could end with the club winning its first trophy in 35 years in Saturday’s FA Cup Final.

Goal.com plumped for bargain buy Vincent company as the man deemed worthy of the player of the year award but when we put the question to you, attacking wizard David Silva came out on top.

The World Cup winner picked up 39.67% of the vote after impressing in his debut Premier League season, adjusting to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League by appearing in all but three of City’s fixtures and notching four goals along the way – his first a typically crafted effort away at Blackpool.

Silva edged out our choice Kompany into second with 36.44% of the vote. The Belgian’s rock solid displays at the heart of Roberto Mancini’s defensive line   have seen him play all but one of City’s league games and marshal his comrades to the highest clean sheet tally in the Premier league.

Carlos Tevez came in third in the vote.  Last season’s official club player of the year did however pick up 23.89% of the vote as a result of his 19 Premier League strikes this season.
