Luanda — Angola will participate on May 16 in the 64th Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO), to happen at the United Nations Palace in Geneva, Switzerland, under the topic “Prevention and Control of Non-Transmissible Diseases”.
The Angolan delegation will be led by the minister of Health, José Van-Dúnem, who arrived on Tuesday in Geneva and it is also made up of Angolan Representative to the UN and International Organizations, Ambassador Arcanjo do Nascimento, as well as top officials of the ministry.
Various topics will be discussed during the forum with highlight to “Reinforcement of Health System”, “WHO strategy project for HIV/AIDS 2011-2015”, “Strategies for secure management of potable water for human consumption” and “Nutrition of babies and small children”.
At the assembly Angola will intervene on the topic “WHO strategy project for HIV/AIDS 2011-2015”.
During his stay in Geneva, José Van-Dúnem will also participate at a meeting of delegations of Africa member states of WHO, with the Regional Director.
José Van-Dúnem is also expected to meet Bill Gates of the Melinda&Bill Gates Foundation and the Director of the World Fund.
