He therefore implored Ghanaians, especially those in authority to remember families of victims of the May 9 Disaster by supporting them both in cash and kind to enable them lead decent lifestyle.
Mr. Mensah disclosed that most of the families of the victims are living in abject poverty following the sudden death of their relatives so the populace should extend a hand of support to them.
The former Kotoko boss disclosed this while addressing several football fans that marched through the principal streets of Kumasi last Saturday in honour of the 126 persons.
Over the last 10 years, Mr. Herbert Mensah has personally presented cash and items to the families of victims of the May 9 Disaster every year. As part of the 10th Anniversary, he decided to organize a mammoth march in Kumasi, which was attended by high-prolife people including Alhaji Hearts to honour the dead.
Mr. Mensah, who was infuriated, criticized the so-called top people, who talk much with little action, stressing that “everybody should play leading roles in helping to cater for the families of victims of the May 9 Disaster. The former Kotoko boss promised to support families of the dead in the coming years, adding that the march in Kumasi was to signify “that we are united as a people.”
As usual, Mr. Mensah presented an undisclosed amount of money, food items, drinks, among others, to some families of the May 9 victims.
Other companies such as Printex, DHL, Ghacem, Interplast, Golden Tulip Kumasi City, Kalyppo, Frutelli, GMPA and Proper Washing Powder supported the event.
In his succinct address, Alhaji Hearts heaped praises on several people that took part in the historic march, which started from Cultural Centre and ended at the Baba Yara stadium.
Renowned sports journalists like Frederick Acheampong of Kessben FM, Sometimer Otuo Acheampong, Hot FM and King Edward the Slave, Hello FM were also honoured by Mensah for their continued support for families of victims of May 9 Disaster over the last nine years.
