Fulham defender Chris Baird has been charged with abusive and/or insulting gesture towards a match official during the match against Liverpool on Monday.
Baird reacted angrily by giving a V-sign to referee Lee Mason after he had received a booking for a rash challenge on Liverpool’s Dirk Kuyt in Fulham’s 5-2 defeat at Craven Cottage.
It was the heaviest home loss of Mark Hughes’s managerial reign at Fulham as they found themselves 3-0 down to a rampant Reds side in 20 minutes. Maxi Rodriguez also helped himself to a hat trick.
Baird has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
