In line with their target of raising at least Shs40m for the Jinja Referral Hospital, this year’s Hared Source of the Nile Marathon has attracted at least 3,000 entrants, doubling the number seen at last year’s event in Jinja. Organisers told the media yesterday that they managed to collect Shs25m from 1, 500 competitors during the second edition. Hared Petroleum general manager Noordin Yusuf lamented the need to equip the hospital’s Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Unit. “Currently, all complications in ENT Unit are referred to Mulago hospital so we want to change that,” Yusuf said. Since its inception three years ago, the event has attended to many worthy causes.
